Nautical Father's Day!

Hi there!  I had my son home with a nasty stomache bug after being up half the night violently ill.  So we had some craft time together and he was stamping some envelopes while I was creating this card for my FIL using this weeks MFT card sketch!  I loved this sketch and the fact that I was able to pull out some if my nautical goodies from a couple months ago!

I started with an A2 kraft card and then used kraft with the fishnet Cover -Up die-namics.  I cut an oval and inked it with tumbled glass distress ink and then cut the oval frame out of kraft and lightly inked the edges.  I used white card stock with the Making Waves die and the Sailboat dies and used distress ink to color all of the pieces.  I used fired brick, salty ocean, wild honey....I also used a confetti mask from Heidi Swapp to create some tone in tone stars.  I wanted the BG strips to match the sailboat scene so I just inked up some strips do it was a perfect match.  I used a SSS Father's Day stamp from their new release and just cut it in a banner and adhered to the front.
I added some die cut stars in the extra colored strips to the inside of the card.  I think that about sums it up!  Thanks for stopping by!

A Bright Future!

Good morning!
My daughter is moving up from 4th grade and going into the middle school (5th grade) in a couple months! She insists that it is a graduation and wants to have a graduation party! Sounds good to me! She has worked super hard and is so ready to move on!
So this card is for her "graduation"!

I started by using this weeks sketch from MFT!
I used a white 110lb card base A2 size and the new MFT "star background" stamp to gold emboss the stars.  The gold detail powder that I have is not really a true gold more of a muted gold, so I was a little disappointed, as I wanted a shiny gold, but it's ok!  I stamped the large sentiment (MFT "happy graduation")  and also hold embossed it. I adhered two thin strips of SSS doll pink cardstock on the top and bottom of the sentiment panel and adhered a 1 inch flag banner behind it using SSS mint card stock.
The star was a left over star from the new SSS release and is the "star parade" die. I also hold embossed it.  I added some gold thread and then used foam tape to raise the star!
For the inside I gold embossed another sentiment from the same graduation stamp set and added some pink stars using the same color card stock and the star parade die!
I had to take the pics in the sun in the grass to get the true colors I used!

And there you have it...a super pretty, simple and fun card!
It's amazing what can be done with a great sketch and awesome supplies! i am entering this in the card sketch challenge at MFT! Come check it out!
Thanks for stopping by today!

Stripes Galore!

Good morning!
I just finished up a card using the positive die cut from yesterday's card. I stuck with the same "birthday hugs" theme from yesterday!  I thought these would be fun cards for my 10 year old daughters friends birthdays. They are all into giving everyone hugs!! So cute!

Anyway.....I used the SSS Wide Stripe BG stamp and cotton candy ink to create a subtle BG.  I adhered the Hugs die cut from yesterday's card (SSS spring cardstock strips...using the big hugs SSS die) and covered it with Wink of Stella glitter! I cut little flag shapes from the Audrey Blue and Doll pink cardstock and used sentiments from different sets. The "happy" is from the SSS Color and Sunshine stamp set and the "birthday" is from MFT "Celebrate" stamp set. I love the mix of fonts...these were white embossed.  I also cut some stars from the Mama Elephant Confetti die and added some glitter to those also! Every girl needs a little sparkle, right!!!

So, that completes this fun birthday card
For today! I am entering this in the SSS Wednesday Birthday challenge...great prizes are offered! Come check it out!
Have a great day!

Birthday Hugs!

Hi there!
Here is a card that I made today! I just wanted to create something and be busy so I started cutting some strips of paper from the SSS "Sweet Treats" Spring paper release.

The widths are random but the lengths are all 5 1/4" long to fit a landscape card A2 base.  I adhered all the strips to a white card base and then die cut the SSS Hugs die (of course I saved the hugs for tomorrow's card!). I then adhered a white piece to the inside front and adhered the little colorful inserts into the letters. So fun!
I stamped the "birthday" (from Avery Elle" on a flag shape using SSS doll pink ink and used foam tape and added a little heart!
This card is for the SSS Wednesday Birthday challenge where SSS is celebrating 5 years! There is a huge prize so come check it out!!
This card was super easy but fun to make and tomorrow I will share the 2nd card I made with the positive from today's card! Thanks for stopping by! Have a great night!

I only have eyes for you

Hi there!  We had another snow day today and the kids were home!  Good thing too because my daughter was running a slight fever!  We stayed in and rested!
I needed to make my husband a Valentine card and I had this card in progress for a couple days and then I saw a card that Vicky Papaioannou had made on her You tube channel and I just had to make the same card!  I hope she doesn't mind that I copied...I just loved the card!

I started with my Lawn Fawn "Science of Love" stamps and dies.  I paper pieced the birds using a tiny polka dot pattern.  I hand cut the body and the eyeglasses...so fun! I added some liquid glass to their glasses!  I used a SSS "Giving Thanks" stamp set for the branch and just masked off one of the smaller branches.  I used my Spellbinders Nestabilities Labels 8 dies to make the card base and the blue layer, then stamped the blue card with Hero Arts polka dot stamp using SSS Sea Glass ink!  I stamped the sentiment using versamark and white heat embossed it!  I used a tiny heart punch for the hearts and added them to the branch as leaves and then up in the left corner to balance out the card!  I die cut two clouds using the "Into The Woods" dies. I added foam squares to the birds and one of the clouds.  I added glitter to the birds bodies, the hearts and the clouds and l added liquid glass to the one heart I between the two birds!
I think this card is super cute and I thank Vicky for the inspiration!  I will be using these Spellbinders dies more for card bases...they are just fun and easy! Thanks for stopping by!

Got Candy??

Good morning!
Here is a card that I made using some new stamp sets! I used the Hero Arts Tiny Flag stamp for the background, Avery Elle Handwritten Notes for the sentiment and Mama Elephant for Simon Says Stamp Filled With Love stamp and die set!  I had so much fun creating this card and mixing up the stamp sets!

I die cut the jar out of the yellow flag stamped background and added some acetate to the back and tied the right side with some green bakers twine. I stamped and black embossed the sentiment.  I die cut the jar out of a light blue color and stamped it. Then stamped and die cut the little gum balls...some have foam adhesive for dimension. I cut the jar lid out of black and stamped one of the little sentiments on a white tag (also die cut and stamped) and tied with some more twine!
Super simple but sweet birthday card! I think this can be used for either male or female, adult or child! I just wanted it to be bright and fun!
The inks I used for the gumballs and BG are Memento dew drops: rose bud, dandelion, pear tart, bahama blue, teal zeal and elderberry!
I am going to enter this in the Hero Art "Birthday" challenge at the Hero Arts Blog!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great weekend!
