Clowning around!!

Here is yet another layout that I did for the treasuredscrapbooking We Love Our Members contest. We had to use one photo, distressing, balance, a form of symmetry and something handmade! This is what I came up with.......

I recycled a pair of my Husbands jeans and made a flower...I pulled some strings to make it fringed added a felt flower and sewed on a button! I distressed the photo mat, added a journaling tag and a strip of ribbon that was I believe on my robe that I got for Christmas...recycled there too! I added a thin strip of denim on top of the red ribbon! I used bilateral symmetry for the base lo and then kept it balanced between the journal tag and the flower!
The picture makes my hysterical when I look at it...my kids were being silly one night. My son unwrapped a mini bonbel cheese and didn't like it so I just ate it...I told him not to open anymore unless he was going to eat it. The next thing I know, he has another cheese unwrapped and wanted me to eat it...no way Jose...he wound up eating it and like it...anyway, I come into my bedroom and find them laughing hysterically with these red noses ( the wax from the cheese) and we all lost it....not to mention their chins and my daughter's missing teeth...too funny!!

Purr-fect Pets!!

I used a sketch from Sassy Lil' Sketches for this LO. I also incorporated a challenge from Treasuredscrapbooking. I used bazzil cardstock, American Crafts pp, Martha Stewart punch, a journal spot, cuttlebug, letter stickers and buttons! These are our fur babies sunbathing in the sun porch!

Somewhere over the Rainbow!!

Here is a LO I did for Erin's rainbow challenge at Treasured scrapbooking! I have wanted to scrap these pics of my little Dorothy for over a year and this challenge got me motivated to do it! I found the adorable rainbow ribbon at A.C. Moore when we were on vacation and thought it would be perfect for this challenge. I used some punches, assorted letter stickers a bird stamp that I cut out and handcut the clouds and emobossed them with the cuttlebug and inked! The red punched border was the last thing that I added, because I felt that the LO needed something more, some red sparkle like Dorothy's shoes! I love the simplicity of this LO and all the fun colors!

A Walk in the Park!

Here is my LO for the week 3 challenge at Treasuredscrapbooking! This week we had to focus on a type of symmetry and use complimentary colors. I chose to play with asymetry and add a bit of bilateral symmetry with the photos and some radial symmetry with the focal point being the large flower in the corner of the LO! I also created a visual triangle around the focal point (my photos) using the circle photo, the circle journaling and the flowers!!! My complimentary colors I chose were blue and orange! I used Sassafras cherry delicious papers, sass flowers that I distressed inked and popped, jenni bowlin alpha tiles, hambly and october afternoon rub ons and some buttons!

Go Green!

I hope everyone had a wonderful St. Patrick's Day! I made dinner for my family and it was delicious!! We made corned beef, cabbage, potatoes and Irish Soda bread!! So here is my green St. Patty's day LO. Over at Treasuredscrapbooking there was a challenge where we had to use all green with a bit of white or black. I found this cute pic of my Son and my Gram being silly together. I made the swirls...handcut them with photo paper and added tiny green crystals with the help of Helmar 450 glue.

We Love Our Members Contest @ TS

Treasuredscrapbooking is having a contest! Here is my week two LO...we had to pay attention to negative space. I wanted to keep it simple and just be able to see the pp, so I made my own branch using wire and floral tape and then made my own crochet flowers.

Take me to New York City!!!!

Here is a LO that I created for a 'We Love Our Members' challenge at Treasured scrapbooking.com. We were asked to use the rule of thirds in both the photo and the LO, add some clustering and unify with color! When I came across this pic of the kids in NYC sharing a pretzel almost the size of them, I thought it was perfect for this challenge. I know I didn't want to use pinks...from in her coat...so I went with some red hues.

A Few Quick Cards!!!

Here are some cards that I recently made! I have been on a card kick lately! This is my favorite card this week!! I made it for a challenge at Treasuredscrapbooking.com We were asked to create a pop up card using the colors yellow, orange and green! The directions for this cute card are from splitcoaststampers. I used my gypsy and WIMG and PDDU carts for the wagon and flowers. The saying is computer generated and I added some pop dots for dimension and used MS fringe scissors for the grass!!

I have wanted to do an acetate card for a while and recently a good friend gave me some! I lined the inside of the card with cardstock and paper and then a flep for journaling...so it wouldn't show through the acetate. I made the rolled fabric flower with directions that I found on House of 3 <
I started this card by using cranberry glimmer mist and it kind of turned out purple...I paired it with a soft green and chocolate brown! I, also glimmer misted some crape paper ( party stuff) and pleated it and added some white ric rac...I stamped the sentiment and added some bling...of course!
