Something I Whipped Up

Good morning! Well after a very scary week last week with my 9 year old daughter fainting and numerous trips to the emergency room, she is back in school. She feels great, like nothing ever happened, which is great, but scary. Not sure if or when it could happen again is nerve wracking!
My husband and I went to her lunch at school yesterday, to check on her and make sure she eats, and she was great!
I found these cute stamps in my stash and decided to whip up a card to bring to her. The monkey's remind me of her and I..lol!
I stamped the image in brown and colored it in with my chromatix markers, which I am not happy with (thats another story). My stamp "just whipped this up for you" was too big to put on the font of the card, so I decided to break it up. I put masking tape over the words I didn't want, inked the stamp and then peeled off the tape and stamped on the paper. Then did the same for the bottom part of the sentiment. I love that I was able to break it up and make the sentiment fit on the front of the card! My card is A2 and i cur a mat in brown and then trimmed the paper with the image, I added some red bakers twine and tied a bow! Super cute and super easy!
I brought the card to her at lunch and she loved it! I also let her bring her elephant to lunch for good luck!

Thank You Notes

I was making some Mother's Day cards a couple weeks ago and was playing with coloring in a stamp. I used a CTMH rose stamp on watercolor paper. On the one strip I used some chromatic markers (shown in the second card) and the other strip I used glimmer mists and just painted the color on with a brush (shown on the first card)! I used some scraps of CTMH papers. I also used the CTMH Art Philosophy cartridge to cut a frame for the sentiment and used a stamp from the $ bin at michaels. I like how simple they were to make and ye still look pretty!
Thanks for stopping by!

Earth Day cupcakes!!

Happy Earth Day!! My plan this morning was to make some earth looking cupcakes for when the kids got home from school...however, my 8 year old daughter stayed home with a head cold and a sore throat. So we were planning on making cupcakes but needed a white cake mix so we sent my husband out to grab one. My daughter kept saying she felt funny and didn't feel well. Then she said she couldn't hear and she fell to the floor...of course I panicked and ran to her not knowing what happened. Well we took her to the ER after she fainted 3 times within minutes. She then fainted again in the waiting room. There was no diagnosis and we returned home. All she could think of was making cupcakes, so we did!
We died the white mix half blue and half green we put them in the liners alternating the colors to make them look earthy! We then cut some hearts with the cricut and made some cute picks!
Here is the quick card I had made and some of the earth cupcakes!
Hope you have a great day!

Just Keep Swimming

Good morning and happy Earth Day! I do have a card that I made the kids to share later but I was planning on making a earth day treat to go with it so hopefully I will post that later!
For now, I have a cute card to share! I have been watching some card making videos on you tube just for some inspiration and I came across Mary from CardzTV...there is a blog and she has some really fun stamp sets. I decided to join the challenge...make something and use buttons! Well I was looking through my newest Cricut cartridge Animal Antics and I saw the phrase "just keep swimming" and I knew I had to use it! My kids sin that every time they go swimming and it's from the movie "Nemo" one of our favorites!
Supplies used: Animal Antics cartridge, DCWV citrus stack, cream cardstock, buttons, adhesive.
Here are the cuts from the cartridge:
Page 64:underwater background 5.5 inches
Page 24: just keep swimming 2.75 inches (I only used 2 layers)
Page 24: snorkeling fish 4 inches

That completes this adorable card...I love the papers from the citrus stack... Picking colors is often a problem for me, but this bright stack made it simple. I love the cuts and the idea of the background all layed out on the cartridge is a great idea! Hope you like it too! And thanks CardzTV for the inspiration!

Spring Layout

Hi there! Here is the second page of the last layout I showed! I used Heidi Swapps 12x12 mistable papers. For the first layout I had cut out the center and used it as a frame...I wanted quite a bit of white space! Then for the second layout I used the inside of that first layout. I used the mustard mist for the papers and then rose and teal for the banners. I hope it looks as cohesiv as I did when I designed it in my head...lol!
I am really loving playing with the Heidi Swapp product that is available at Michaels!

Easter Treat

I hope everyone had a wonderful Easter! We sure did here...from egg hunts to ham dinner, it was a wonderful day spent with the family!
Now I wish I had more time to make more of these because these treats turned out super cute! I found the idea on Pinterest! My daughter painted the egg carton a pretty blue color and then we put some paper grass and filled with some chocolate treats and jelly beans! We wrapped it in cellophane and off it went as a cute Easter treat!
I will definitely take more time next year and collect egg cartons and paint them in advance, just cute & fun!!
