Found Treasure!

So, today was kind of boring and I wanted to get out for a bit. My husband took me to T.J.Maxx, I hate going there...don't particularly like the store and everytime I go I spend a ton of $ on stuff....ya never know what you will find. Anyway, I went to look for some dainty little tea cups and saucers for my daughter's tea party (more details to come on that). I found some cute dresses for my daughter and my niece's. I, also came across some wire dress forms...I know that was a hot display item at CHA, and I have wanted one....so here is what I found. Oh, they didn't have a single tea cup....ha!!!
This dress form is about 14 inches tall, it is pink and it was only $10!! I had to have it...I may use it or put it in my daughter's room for her jewelry....

This is a recipe book holder...it is dark silver tone and I love it...I will use it to display a 12x12 album...only $2.50....had to have it!!

Ok...are you ready for the absolute bargain find of the day....I got this dress form for only $3.00....yes 3 dollars...I had to have it.
It is about 24 inches tall and has a base...my idea for this is to make paper flowers and put them on the dress...like one I saw in a pic at CHA!
So, those were my bargains for the day...all three fantastic items for $15.50!!! I know, doesn't take much to make me happy! I guess I am a Maxx-onista now...isn't that what they say on the commercial???? Thanks for looking and have a great weekend!!!

A Scrappy Moday!

Well, today was a rainy and windy day, just dreary! I scrapped for a couple of hours today while the kids were in school. I made a few cards with the Treasuredscrapbooking card kit! I copied some of Eva's designs and then did some that were inspired by her designs. I had so much fun making these and I still have more to make! I hope you like them as much as I do!

Here is a LO that I made today, I scraplifted a LO from the background stamps that I used. I heat embossed the designs and the title! I did this for a challenge at TS, we had to do something on a LO that we don't normally do....'step outside the box'. So, I stamped and used my own handwriting....two things I normally don't do and I haven't sewn on a LO in a while, so I did that too! I also stitched on a picture.

Excitement over CHA!!!

I am so excited about all of the sneak peeks going on over the new CHA releases! I see so many new products that I just have to have! Hopefully I can have a chunk of change when the tax $$$ comes in! I have to have the Tim Holtz embossing folders, I love the brick, wood, sun, circles, notebook and the bingo one...check them out HERE. Another one of my must haves is from Jenni Bowlin....I love the bingo card alphabets, they look so chunky and the butterflies with bling! I can't wait to see what provocraft will reveal. I see so many new cricut cart that are out now and coming in the next month or so...so many fun ones. I still have to get paisley and the new princess one for my daughter! I need to start using up supplies that I have here to make room for the new ones. I need TIME to create projects, I get so side tracked when I am working on a project! Any way, I am so excited about the new releases and I can't wait to get my hands on some of them!

Cards with embossing....

I ordered cor'dinations cardstock and was able to play with it today with my new cuttlebug embossing folders! I used chocolate cardstock for this card and sanded it. I added a quote that I printed and some prima hydrangea (sp?) flowers.

For this card, I embossed the background and added some glitter letter stickers and made an accordian flower and put in a flower that I have had for years! I have a hard time covering up the embossing, so these cards were super easy and super fast.

I just got my card kit that I ordered from Treasuredscrapbooking.com! It is so beautiful and I just can't wait to make some gorgeous cards with it! I hope to get some time to scrap tomorrow before our busy weekend!

Happy Projects!

I have been working on this word book for a week now and am happy to report that it is done. Well, I still have to journal and add some pics, but I wanted to post before I did that. I made this for my 6 year old daughter! I designed it with the cricut design studio...I have been having problems cutting with my gypsy. I cut it out using medium wight cardstock and K&Co Smittem papers. I used the cuttlebug swiss dots folder for the hearts and popdots. I used my BIA and added some sheer ribbons and some cristals. I also used a prima pink butterfly, I absolutely love it and new that I had to use it on my daughter's book! She loves it and is bringing it in to school (when the pics are in) to share with her class!

I had recently ordered the new 'romance' collection embossing plates from HSN and received them yesterday! The kids and I had fun playing with them. I made this card using my favorite chandelier folder. I added some ribbon, bling, heidi swapp flowers and puff dot and some glitter letter stickers!
I cannot for the life of me get away from using the color pink....I am going to try to replicate this card not using the color pink, but I do love it!
Sorry the pic looks crooked, I did a bad job cropping it!

Sweet Treats!!

I had a couple hours to create today and I have been wanting to make this, so I jumped in! I got the directions for this acetate box from Susie McCormick at http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/resources/tutorials/acetatebox/. I used some acetate packaging rom a set of stickers I had and used some MM papers and ribbon and the heart punch from MS! This cute little box stands at 3 1/2 inches tall and 2 inches wide. I filled with some dove chocolate hearts! I am making these for teachers and family! My husband loved them and was so impressed, he gave me the go ahead to order some acetate and more supplies! I hope you will try to make one, they were super easy and just makes a sweet little treat!!

Smitten

This is the second Lo that I did today. This is for yet another TS challenge (do I do anything else?....I am so addicted to TS). We had to use white for our background. I used the MS hearts border punch and then mounted it onto pink cardstock. I used MM flowers and buttoms, smitten puffy stickers, glitter letter stickers and AC acrylic hearts. The pics are from my daughter's first day of K when we took her to lunch at Subway. She is Daddy's little girl, for sure!

For the Love of Riding!

I made this Lo for my Niece who was in a horse Show. I made it for a crop challenge at TreasuredScrapbooking. We had to use something that we would normally throw away on a LO. I used corrugated cardboard and inked it, cut a piece into a heart. I added some ribbon, flowers and pearls. I am framing it for my Niece, Madison. She will be so proud to hang it in her room!! Hope you like it as much as I do!

New Goodies!

I received some scrappy mail for leaving a comment on a blog for a friend. I got some Glitz frosting bling...and I love them, especially the arrow! I can't wait to use them.
We took the kids to Chuck E Cheese today and we had fun. Some older man gave my daughter a ton of tickets, so she was thrilled. The prizes there are crap, but the kids love them! We stopped at ACMoore real quick for some goodies. I had some bday money that I "had" to spend. I bought a new MS hearts punch around the page with a 40%coupon. Some K&Co smitten heart stickers, MM tiny alphas, AC playhouse plastic hearts (only $1), some doodlebug pink sugar coating glitter and a cute box of MM 5th avenue blossoms and buttons. All this for only $37....I think I did rather well. I love all of my new goodies and I can't wait to start creating some Vday projects!!

Cropping Away the Weekend!

We had a crop this weekend over at TreasuredScrapbooking! I love on line crops and challenges, I love all the inspiration and seeing so many different ways to do the same thing. I had a little time here and there to participate, and this is what I did.... This was for a keeping it clean and simple challenge. I had taken this picture of my Mother with her new, rather freaky sunglasses. They were really a video camera, we had so much fun with them, I have never laughed so hard. So here is my LO that I came up with....
I made this post it note holder for a challenge. I used an acrylic frame and decorated it with pink and black. My husband and I do so much for the kids....making sure they are having fun on the weekends and planning fun activites, which we love and wouldn't change, but we tend to neglect "US" so I hope that this will help to plan more together time.
I made this cute little album to hold my photo cd's by month. I used some chipboard and cardstock, my BIA, and some mixed up chipboard letters. I punched holes in a cd with the crop a dile and threaded some ribbon...on the cover. The inside has pocket pages for each of the months (used designers calendar) and the album holds a few more pages for special events throughout the year! I am pleased with the concept and how it turned out. I hope this will keep me on top of uploading my photo cd's!!

So, those are the projects that I made for this crop, I hope you all like them!
I, also, had time to do a few of the monthly challenges and so far created these projects....

Samanth turns 6!!!

My daughter's bday was on the 30th. She celebrated at school the week before with ice cream and for her actual bday we went to lunch at Friendly's where they sang to her and then later my son and I took her to go see Alvin and The Chipmunks...so funny. She had a great day. Her bday party was last week at SafTSwim, an indoor pool, she had 17 kids come and it was snowing that day. She had a great time swimming with her friends! She came home and opened all of her awesome gifts, she was so excited!! I can't believe that she is 6 already, seriously, where does the time go???? It just feels odd for me to say that I have an 8 and a 6 year old!!! I love her to pieces and I am so proud of all her accomplishes, she will always be my baby no matter how big she gets...heee heee!!! She gets so embarassed when I say that!!!

Happy 2010!!!

Wow, I can't believe it is 20-10 already. We didn't do anything special, just hung out together. We were still trying to recoop from the holidays and all that has been going on here. One of our favorite traditions (from when I was little) is to bang post and pans outside and do sparklers. My husband bought some huge ones that I was afraid to light but didn't want to disappoint my son! They had fun and then we woke them up at midnight to watch the ball drop and they got their second wind and were up until 1:30!
