Cricut Lite Excitement!!

Well, it is late here...just got my daughter to sleep, she is not feeling well and was up with a bad tummy ache. So we were in my bed talking...how I love moments like those...not that she is sick, but that we could be up late together just talking!! She finally fell asleep next to me!
I just wanted to jump on and share my excitement!!
Today, I took the kids to visit my Gram...over an hour away and we went to Olive Garden for lunch (our favorite place) and then we ran over to Wally World, my Son was on the hunt for a fishing pole...we walked around and he found what he was looking for and then I hit the scrapbook section......they had all 24 Cricut lite cartridges ( no, sorry they were out of the cat one)! I was so excited, I took my Daughter's picture in front of all the carts...she was as excited as I was! There were so many to look at, I picked up a few that I was interested in, but I couldn't put down lacy labels, so I bought it! I hate spending full price on anything, so that was a big deal. I felt guilty buying it knowing that we are going on vacation soon! So, long story short....I came home from our outing and my Husband called from work and said to just go ahead and join the CRICUT CIRCLE (a new Cicut MB with exclusive cartridges and many perks)! So I did....now when I first got the invite, I was upset with the price, but if you break it down and realize what you get, it isn't that bad. I didn't think I wanted to join...actually I wasn't, I thought it was ridiculous and over priced, but now that it was reaching the cut off date and it was by invite only, I caved in and joined. I am excited about a new venture and I can't wait to see what it is really all about! I am excited to get my welcome package and the first cartridge French Manor! I feel guilty about spending that kind of money on something like this so I hope that it lives up to my expectations!

I will post some creations with the new lacy labels cartridge over the next couple of days!

Remember This Day!

Is everyone enjoying their Sunday today...it is Sunday isn't it? Lol!! I get the days all messed up when the kids are home for the Summer! I have been cleaning up all day in preparation for a yard sale...and it is hot hot hot!!
Anyway, I just wanted to share this layout that I did last month...I never posted it because I was trying to find the date of the pic, as you can see, I still haven't found it. I am guessing that it is from 2006 because my DD looks like she was 3 ish....isn't that terrible, I can't remember. Anyway, I bought this kit from Scrapbook Circle, because I thought it would be perfect for some pics of the outdoors with the kids. I did steal Aymee's idea of cutting out the patterned paper...I hope you don't mind Aymee...you can check out her blog here! I also cut a frame and used pop dots to adhere and give some dimension. I added some twine and some silver medals that I found at M's on clearance for $1. I also added some tiny alphas and a rubon...everything else was in the kit. I am so happy that I ordered this kit and I LOVE how this layout turned out. When I finally get the date on here I may frame it and hang it in the hallway!!
Have a great rest of the day and thanks for stopping by!!!

School's out for Summer!!

Today was officially the last day of school for the kids! We are excited to have them home for the
Summer and they are excited to have a break from school! We had the official bell ringing ceremony this morning...they were dismissed at 10:30! I now have a First and Fourth grader...where does the time go?

These are the cards that I made for all of the teachers with gift cards enclosed! I used a MS double rings punch (found in the store), a stamp and cut the apple using Give a Hoot cricut cartridge and embossed it with divine swirls!
I was feeling the Summer heat, so I made this page using the Sweet Summertime kit from a new company called Echo Park. I love all the vibrant double sided paper, the letter stickers, tags and sticker embellies! I also used the zutter Distrezz-it-All! Both the kit and the Distrezz-it-All can be found in the thoughts2paper store!

Here is a card that I made using the Sweet Summertime kit! I added a ribbon and some stickers to the envelope! I just love the fun colors and embellies in this kit!!

I hope you all have a fabulous Friday and a wonderful weekend!!

Forever Young Purse and Note Cards!

Hi everyone! I wanted to share with you some mini 3x3 notecards that I made with a matching purse for my Daughter. This was one of her Friday after school treats and she absolutely loved it. I used the Forever Young Cricut Cartridge and a fiskars punch! I used my gypsy for this and stretched the purse to fit on the 12x12 mat and the 3x3 note cards fit beautifully inside! I just adore this fun girly cartridge and can't wait to design more with it!
Have a fabulous day today!

Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day to all the Daddies, I hope you all have a wonderful day with your family and friends! My Husband has to work today, so we will clean up and finish up some projects. We are having a bbq with my parents later in the afternoon! Here is a card that I designed for Thoughts2paper...my kids will give it to their Daddy! To match the card, I created this mini album for my husband! I used some thin chipboard, the bind it all, the distrezz it all and My Family paper kit. The distrezz it all adds so much dimension to any project and can be found in the thoughts2paper store along with the My Family kit!

Family Ties!

Here is a simple layout that I designed for Thoughts2paper using an awesome kit called My Family by Fancy Pants that can be found in the store! I based my layout on an awesome diecut called classic 11 1/2...also found in the store. I used the chipboard diecut and traced it onto a piece of patterned paper from the kit...that is the base of my layout! These diecuts can be ordered in cardstock or in chipboard, which is great for tracing onto your own coordinating papers! My journaling is hidden under the cardstock title using some cardstock hinges!

Supplies: My Family kit (rubons included), My Family trim, classic diecut, Unity 12 Months of Goodness stamp and Kraft cardstock...all of which can be found in the store!

P.S. Father's Day is Sunday...don't forget to make your Father a special card! Tune in on Sunday for a card that I made my Husband along with a little project that I made!!!

A Change for a Good Cause!

Today was a huge day for us here. My Daughter's school was hosting a Locks for Love event. Locks for Love is an orgnization that uses hair from donations to make wigs for children who can't grow hair. So, today, my 6 year old Daughter Samantha donated 13 inches of her hair. She was so excited and so proud and so were we. We had tears of joy for our Daughter to take such a big step. It took her 6 years with only one trim to grow her hair. She had a wonderful experience and everyone was so kind. She looks so grown up now! She is a young girl with a BIG heart!

Here she is before:

And here she is after making a big difference in another little girls life:

Beachy keen cake!

Hi ladies, hope you all had a great weekend! We were super busy...yesterday, I spent all day making a 3 tier cake for my in laws 40th Anniversary party that my SIL and I planned! I spent about 6 hours on this cake, but I have to say for my first tiered cake, I think it came out great. There were some flaws, but all in all it went over so good. The bottom layer was strawberry filling, the middle layer was chocolate pudding and the top was just buttercream (my hubby doesn't like filling). I made my own buttercream frosting and used fondant that was died to match the adorable beachy cake topper! I bought the sugar seashells, I thought they were perfect for the cake! Everyone raved about it and made me blush! So, here is myself and the cake...mind you this picture was taken after many hours of set up and preparing for the party...lol! Now that all of my parties are done, I am all set to start scrapping again...until Wednesday...the kids have field day and beach parties and my daughter is marking a milestone in her life...a huge one in my eyes. Samantha at age 6 is donating over 10 inches of her hair to Locks of Love and I am very emotional over it. So stay tuned for some cutie patutie pictures of her!

Hats off to the GRAD!!

Here is a quick 20 minute card that I made for the 365 cards challenge! We had to use atleast 3 of something and everything had to be in a row! With it being graduation time, I chose to do a graduation card in our school color. It took me most of the time to find this pp in my stash that was perfect for this card. I cut the hats and the diploma with my Cricut using 'A Childs Year' cartridge and I embossed both the background and the hats. This came together so quickly and easily and I like the end result...now to find a graduate to give it to...lol!!

A Refreshing Glass of Lemonade!

Here is a cute card made with the 'Just Because Cards' cricut cartridge...it is full of phrases and images for the cutest everyday cards! You can purchase this cartridge at the thoughts2paper store! I used Bazzil cardstock and some pp from DCWV...it is probably hard to tell, but I used glossy accents on the lemonade and the inside of the lemon...it looks like a real refreshing glass of lemonade! I also used a white gel pen for some dotted accents on the letters! I hope you have a 'refreshing' day!
