I absolutely love Halloween...from making goody bags for the kids at school to taking the kids trick or treating....love it! The kids had parties and crafts at school and I stuffed 40 goody bags for their classes! The whole elementary school marched through town and they were all adorable!
Today there was a rag-a-muffin parade through town and the kids got to trick or treat at all the local shops....they got way toooo much candy and just had so much fun!!
Then we went trick or treating on a popular street near us....Elm Street...how fun is that!!! The kids had so much fun....oh...Sammi was a bride and so was her cousin and Chris was darth vader! Hope you all had fun on this spooky day.....Happy Halloween!!

Natural Beauty Layout!
Here is a lo that I did for a challenge on treasuredscrapbooking, we had to use white space and bling. I used a heidi swapp mask with white spray paint for the background and inked the edges with a green. I used cricut for the letters and the butterfly. I heat embossed the butterfly with white. I added some flowers with pearls and some bling! This pic is of my 5 yo DD with her bride dress that her Grammy bought her. She wanted a photo shoot and we had so much fun. This is my favorite pic!
Thanksgiving Tray!
Here is a wooden tray that I altered for Thanksgiving! I used crackle medium with cream and sage paint. I loved the distressed look. I inked the edges in brown. I used gypsy font for the letters and shapes. I like the way it came out, but I am thinking of adding a pour on resin, but I want to wait to make another one as a gift. With using the resin, I can use it for a cheese and cracker try or a wine tray.

Picture tutorial on Making a Witch Hat Treat Container!!
Halloween is one of my favorite holidays! Not only do you get to steal your kids candy...lol...there are so many great treat ideas to make! Here is my witch hat container, it stands about 11 inches tall with a brim measuring 9 inches. It will hold alot of goodies, or popcorn or any kind of treat! So, here are the directions with some pics, this is my first tutorial, so please keep that in mind. Have fun making an adorable treat container for your little Boils and Ghouls!!!
1. Here are the supplies needed...2-12x12 black cardstock or a printed cardstock, one 12x12 orange or printed cardstock (for hat), 1 1/2 yards of ribbon, scissors, pencil, protractor, glue, hole puncher and cricut or paper punches.
2. You need to cut one 9 1/2 inch circle out of one of the black carstock pieces and another 9 1/2 inch circle with the other black piece. I used my cricut for this, but you could easily use the protractor or a circle cutter. Cut a 5 inch circle out of one of the 9 1/2 inch circles. Again, I used the center point feature on my cricut.
Next, you will need to cut the piece for the hat...to do this, take your orange or pattern cardstock and measure 11 inches on 2 sides. I used my protractor to make a quarter circle.
***TIP***if using a patterned cardstock for the hat, make sure before you cut out the quarter circle, make sure that when glued the pattern will lay right*****
3. After tracing, cut out your quarter circle. Then on the curve, mark 3/4 inch in and space them about 3/4 to 1 inch apart and cut making slits so you have something to glue the brim to. Flip it over, so you are looking at the front or patterned side and fold up each of the flaps.
4. Then, I used some scraps of cardstock to cut out some stars with my cricut and used the shadow feature, but you could easily freehand some shapes or use punches.
5. While holding both black circles together, make marks about 3/4 inch apart and about 1/4 inch in. I used my crop-a-dile and just placed the marker where I wanted the holes, so they were all even.
6. Fold over the quarter circle, so that it lays flat on the bottom and comes to a point at the top. I used tape inside to hold in place while I was gluing the seams. You want to overlap your seam 1/4 inch. Hold in place until glue sets. **tip, I like to use the diamiand glaze for a quick adhesive...it holds and dries fast**After that dries, place some glue on the flaps that are laying flat and take the circle with the inner circle cut out and place down over the top of the hat. Make sure it is glued and secure.
7. Now, it is time to fill your hat with treats. I used some animal cracker packs, nerds, lollipops, gum and playdough. For my children's teachers, I may fill with some caramel corn and candy corn for a sweet treat!
*please ignore my pencil marks, they are there for this tutorial*
8. Now take the other circle, line up the holes and you are ready to stitch the hat closed so all your treats will stay in. I started at the front in the middle and left a long tail (to be tied later). Start stitching...you want the ribbon to come under and around...please see picture to understand...it is hard to explain.
Add all of your embellishments...I used stars, stickers, rubons, words and added a plaque from Micheals(already made).
That completes my tutorial. I hope it was wasy to understand and please let me know what you think. Have fun making your own treat containers. Thank you!

My First Gypsy Project....
I bought the Gypsy when it premiered on HSN! It was a great value and came with a lot of extra stuff!! I am pleased with it so far and have been able to create in the car on a long drive and in bed at night...lol!! So, here is my first project using the gypsy...nothing fancy yet. I cut the pumpkin border, the arrows (was able to flip) and the maple leaves. I also used my cuttlebug and ink for the background and the MS scary fence punch.

Witch hat... treat holder....
This is a witch hat that has plenty of room to store cookies, popcorn or treats. I have had the directions for many years, but they got lost in the shuffle...I recently found them and had to try it!!! Once, I got the dimensions right, it was very simple and fun! I used my criut to cut the circles and the stars and added some other halloween embellies from my stash. I put a bunch of treats in it for halloween (but accidentaly deleted them...oops) I had so much fun making it! If you like it and would like to know how to make it...please leave me a comment. I am in the process of working on a picture tutorial! Thanks for taking a peek and please let me know what you think!
P.S. I have decided to use this for a challenge going on at treasuredscrapbooking.com...the challenge was to create a goody container of some sort...I think this fits the bill!!

Lunch with MOMMY!!!!
The school encourages parents to come in and have lunch with their kids and go to recess with them and also come in and read and bring snacks....so naturally, as a SAHM with kids in school, I took advantage. I surprised the kids one day and showed up for lunch and recess!! My daughter was so excited to buy lunch and I had to see...she was so cute...her and my niece were so excited to see me and eat lunch...My son was shocked...he usually gets upset when he sees me at school and wants to come home, so I wasn't sure how that would work, but it was great! He was thrilled to have his mommy there and his friends loved having me there (they thought I was in college...gotta love it!) So, my plan is to have lunch with them at least once a month!!!!
Christopher's 8th Birthday....Star Wars!!
My son wanted a star wars birthday party...we invited all his cousins and a few boys from school and we went to a local farmstand. The kids got to play on wooden structures, go through the corn maze, pick a bag of apples, go on a hay ride and eat cupcakes...fun, fun, fun!!!! Here is a star wars centerpiece I made for him....I enlarged some mask figures on the computer, cut them out and glued them to dowels and stuck them in a tin and added some colorful curling ribbon...he loved it....
I also made some cupcake pics using some clip art on the computer...super cute and super simple....
Here is the birthday boy with his favorite gift.... such a great day!!
