Shining Star

Hi and good afternoon!  We had another few inches of snow here and the kids had a delayed opening...I love these mornings!
I whipped up this card...ok well I didn't whip it up...it took days! Lol! I did a little here and there but putting the card together after all of the elements were done was super fast!

started with a 4x5 1/4 sea glass (SSS) cardstock and blended some broken china distress ink around the edges. I used the SSS falling stars stencil and white embossing paste then sprinkled it with silver embossing powder, let it dry and then heat embossed! I love the look of the silver stars! I have to say that I "borrowed" this idea for the card from Debby Hughes (from the Stenciled Card Class)...I just loved it!
I used the OWH Lil Hoot owl stamp and colored it with Spectrum Noir markers (GB5, DG2, DG3, IG1, GB8, GB10, BG4, BG6, BG8) and cut it out. I stamped the branch again, colored, cut and used foam tape and adhered to the branch and cut the leaves and adhered them! Just gave it a fuller look. I used Zig wink of Stella on the leaves and the owls tummy and ears...just to add shine. I used CTMH liquid glass for the eyes.
The banner was cut on the Cricut using Girls Makeup Party cartridge cut with its shadow at 1.5 inches! I didn't have a banner die and my silhouette hasn't been working so I was happy to pull out my cricut and cut what I needed!
The sentiment for the banner is from Cardztv "It's All About You" stamp set...I masked it off so it would fit long ways on the banner!
I cut two mini tags using "Filled With love"  By Mama Elephant for SSS die and stamp set and adhered one behind the other and hung from the banner using May Arts Natural Twine.
This has to be one of my favorite cards and I have to say that the Stenciled class was great with lots of tips, ideas and inspiration!
I am entering this card at the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge where it I say thing goes with twine and featuring mama Elephant!
Thanks for stopping by and stay warm!

Spooktacular Halloween Treats!

Good morning friends...lately I have been in the mood to create Halloween goodies with all of the fun product and cricut cartridges out there! Here are some treat bags that I made using the 'Mini Monsters' cartridge...the bags are about 3x4, just right to hold some small treats! I am thinking...while I am in the Halloween mood..I might create enough for my daughter's first grade class!

And here is a card that I made using the Celebrate with Flourish cartridge for the moon and witch and the Happy Halloween title....I have to say that the images are so cute for all the different seasons and occasions!

There will be plenty more projects with all of the new Halloween and lite cartridges that I haven't had a chance to play with yet!!

A Ticket 2 Ride!

I have a fun layout for you today using Summer Vacation cricut cartridge! I cut the ferris wheel at 11 1/2" and the tickets at 1 1/2". I added some stickles and bling to make it shine like my daughter's smile!! We took the kids to a festival and my daughter and I went on the swings over ten times...and we loved it!

I designed this for Thoughts2paper and the cricut cartridge can be found in the store!

I love me a good sketch!!!

Hi there! Hope you are all having a fantastic Tuesday...the weather is not so nice here today. I took the kids to the library for crafts and to get more books to read. They each joined the reading program at the library and have a big ice cream party if they read 6 books in 6 weeks....they are almost done!!

I have 2 projects to share with you today while I am anxiously awaiting the cricut circle message board to be open!!
Here is a layout that I made using a fabulous sketch from Thoughts2Paper! I love Del's sketches, they really help me to get a layout done and pics on a page! Ok....here is the sketch

and here is what I did with it....a close up of the flower arrangement I made: I flipped the sketch and used three 4x6 photos vertically on the page, added a frame to the center photo and some ribbon. I hand stitched the flower stem using Bazzill 'In stitches' template and floss. I made the large flower by crumpling and misting a newsprint flower diecut and misting a prima flower. I made some rolled flowers using some scraps and I cut the butterfly using the 'serenade' cricut cartridge that can be found in the Thoughts2Paper store and added some sheer butterflies! I used all So Sophie papers from My Minds Eye that can also be found in the store.

Supplies used: So Sophie~thoughtful flower, ledger swirl and forever with you frame; Helmar 450 and scrapdots, Bazzill In stitches, cricut serenade cartridge, white prima flower: all can be found in the Thoughts2Paper store. Glimmer mist, sheer butterflies and ribbon from Thoughts2Paper stock.

My second project is an easel card using a sketch. I made this for the
365Cards challenge...using a sketch and white space with a Christmas theme. Here is what I did:
I got the directions for this easel card here and I made it into a 6x6 card. I embossed the red cardstock with the Emily's bouquet embossing folder and I embossed the poinsettia with the textile folder. I cut the poinsettia with my Gypsy using wanderings, I believe...lol!!
Supplies used: cardstock, Emily's bouquet and textile embossing folders, red crystals, ribbon and holiday stamp.
*(ok, so I just realized that it didn't have to be Christmas, but I was in the mood anyway...lol!!)*

4th of July Centerpiece!!

Happy Independence Day!!!!
Here is a festive centerpiece that my Daughter Samantha and I made together! We used the Independence Day (limited edition) Cricut cartridge that can found in the thoughts2paper store . I love the images on this cartridge and although there are no creative features, there is some layering on the cuts. I used a metal tub from Michaels and white lollipop sticks...I glued the images to the sticks with Helmar 450 quick dry adhesive...also found in the thoughts2paper store ( I love this stuff and if you haven't tried it you should!!!). I added some curling ribbon to the sticks and some of my sons flags...I am so happy with the way that it turned out...just so festive and fun and full of red, white and blue!!!

We always go to my Husband's Aunt's house after the 4th of July Parade, so we thought we would bring this centerpiece and card (and some festive cupcakes) this year!

Here is the card that we made using the 4th of July and hat cut. We used the stars cuttlebug folder and popdots for the hat!

I hope you all have a fabulous 4th of July weekend full of FUN!!!
