Bring back the backgrounds!

Hi there!
I have two quick cards to share on this Friday afternoon!
For this card...

I used masking tape and distress inks to create a plaid background!  I learned this great technique from Laura Bassen who was an instructor today on C&S Cards 3 class and we were focusing on letting the background be the focus!
This was so easy to create using the post it note masking tape! I used a few different colors of TH distress inks and the sentiment is from MFT!

Now, for this next card, I wasn't even going to post it because I wasn't sure if I liked it (still not sure).  This is for the same class but we were doing optical illusion techniques (again another technique from Laura Bassen)!

I used the Hero Arts Tiny Flag BG stamp and two circle stamps from a Mama Elephant set with some Memento dew drop inks. The sentiment is from MFT. I also didn't get crisp lines in the center while using a mask so I just used a ruler and black journaling pen and made a frame. IDK how I feel about this card so I figured I would post it!

  1. Wow - You rocked the plaid stamping. Those colours and bold sentiment are fantastic.

  2. I love the colors you chose for your plaid, so bright and cheerful!

  3. Nice job on the plaid stamping.

  4. Stunning cards. Aren't you just loving this class?

  5. Thanks ladies! I appreciate your comments! Yes, I am loving this class!

  6. How pretty!! Love your plaid!! This class is so fun, isn't it? My plaid did not come out as well as yours, either and it was my second try at it. Your stripes are more even then mine!! Great job on the techniques!!
