Flower Power!

Good morning!
I had made this card last week and hadn't had a chance to post it as my kiddos have had numerous events and activities! As I type my 12 year old son is volunteering with the jr fire department at the Special Olympics hosted in our town! He called me not long ago and said, "Mom, it's just wonderful to see them all happy and having fun" my heart melted and he made me tear up! I'm so proud of him!
Anyway, enough mushy business!  On to the card I created!

I created this for the PTI (Papertrey ink) blog Make It Monday challenge...embossing a sentiment and using a stamped image to make that sentiment pop!
I started with an A2 size white card base and stamped the sentiment from SSS "thinking of you" set and white heat embossed it.  Then I took a few of the flowers from the PTI "Just Smile" stamp set and some PTI ink ( Hawaiian Shores, Hibiscus Burst and Raspberry Fizz) and randomly stamped with concentration near the sentiment. I added some sequins from the PTI Shakers & Sprinkles set and some glitter with the "wink of stella" glitter pen.
I think it was a fun technique to try and can be used with various stamps and inks!  I wish I had used a bigger and bolder sentiment, but overall and am happy with this simple one layer card!

Puppy Friends

Good morning!
Another card share today as I am on a roll this morning!  Probably more to come this afternoon!

I made this for the Lawnscaping challenge! The challenge is to create a background using stamps. **(edited to add: the link up is closed...thought I had until tonight to post, but that's ok because I have a really cute card that I had fun creating)**

I recently purchased a few Lawn Fawn stamps and dies from Laurel and the kids and I have been having fun with them. I used "Critters At The Dog Park" stamp set and matching dies!
I used a blue polka dot base and then cut a piece of thin vellum the same size and I used the small paw print in the set and momento ink to stamp on the vellum and layered it on top of the blue paper!  I think it created such a cute background and card base!

I stamped and colored the images with Prismacolor pencils and gamsol and used foam tape to give dimension.  I used a stitched frame cut from red cardstock using a new die from my PTI Make It Market Shakers and Sprinkled kit.  I used a piece of white card stock and inked the bottom with mowed lawn distress ink and the top part in tumbled glass and then used the grass stamp in the same stamp set and used the mowed lawn ink to create two layers of grass. The sentiment is also stamped in momento tuxedo black ink and is from the stamp set!
And that's all there is to it!  Super simple but fun card card using one stamp set with coordinating dies!  I am entering this in the SSS Wednesday Challenge: Die Cut Craze!

Thanks for stopping by! See you later today with another card!!

Star Parade!

Hi there!  I have a Birthday card to share tonight that I made for the SSS Wednesday Die Cut Challenge!

This card may look a bit complex, but it was super easy!!  I started with an A2 kraft card base and added a white mat that I stamped with the sentiment and then used adhesive sheets with the SSS Star Parade die...I carefully peeled the back layer off and placed it on the white mat and then peeled off the border layer and added bronze glitter. Then peeled off a few stars and added blue glitter and the same for the green....only exposing the pieces that I wanted a certain color. So easy and it looks stunning IRL!!   I added some orange punched stars using the same die just to fill space!

I love how this card turned out and would love to know what you think!
There is also a  Birthday Card challenge at the craftsy.com blog celebrating their 3rd Birthday!  I am going to enter this card there as well!

Nautical Father's Day!

Hi there!  I had my son home with a nasty stomache bug after being up half the night violently ill.  So we had some craft time together and he was stamping some envelopes while I was creating this card for my FIL using this weeks MFT card sketch!  I loved this sketch and the fact that I was able to pull out some if my nautical goodies from a couple months ago!

I started with an A2 kraft card and then used kraft with the fishnet Cover -Up die-namics.  I cut an oval and inked it with tumbled glass distress ink and then cut the oval frame out of kraft and lightly inked the edges.  I used white card stock with the Making Waves die and the Sailboat dies and used distress ink to color all of the pieces.  I used fired brick, salty ocean, wild honey....I also used a confetti mask from Heidi Swapp to create some tone in tone stars.  I wanted the BG strips to match the sailboat scene so I just inked up some strips do it was a perfect match.  I used a SSS Father's Day stamp from their new release and just cut it in a banner and adhered to the front.
I added some die cut stars in the extra colored strips to the inside of the card.  I think that about sums it up!  Thanks for stopping by!

Happy Mother's Day!

I hope you all had a wonderful day doing whatever it is you do to celebrate!
My parents took us to an early dinner at our favorite restaurant so neither of us had to cook! Such a nice treat! With two almost teenagers going through a growth spurt...well, feeding them is kind of like running a restaurant! I mean the amount of food, the grocery bills and the cooking is enough to wear me out!! I do love it though and wouldn't have it any other way....so today was a nice treat!

Here are the Mother's Day cards that I made this year using the MFT Blueprints 14 die set!

A close up!

And here is what I got for Mother's Day from my husband and children!  I love this PTI Make It Market Sprinkles kit!  I can't wait to play with it tomorrow!
My kiddos each gave me a plant (they are on a gardening kick lately) and my son made me a beautiful card with some of my supplies and my daughter made me a beautiful paper bag album at school!  She wrote on one of the tags that I make her heart happy and I just melted!  So sweet! I am truly blessed to have a beautiful family! They make me proud to be their Mommy!

Mr. Handsome

Good morning! TGIF!!! What a long week and it's not over for me...we have had all sorts of important appointments this week and 1 more to go!
Anyway, here is another layout that I made featuring my son!!   This layout was inspired by Ali Edwards during the inspiration for NSD!  I posted this for @bigpictureclasses for #nsd10k as part of the 10,000 layouts posted!

I kept it rather simple. The blue BG paper is from Heidi Swapp as well as the stencils to create the stars.  I used the confetti stencil (just the stars) with white embossing paste but I didn't like the stark white on the layout, do I layed the stencil back down and used TH faded jeans and lightly inked over them! Much better with the blue stars!
The rest of the paper strips and embellishments came from the  Teresa Collins "He Said" line!
I added some journaling about my 12 year old son getting his haircut...seriously don't know why he hates getting it done...anyway, I love this picture of him at the barber shop!
I am entering this in the Simon Says Monday Challenge...Challenge 5...use give of something!  I chose to use five numbers with 5 journaling prompts!

Scrapbook layouts!

Goid morning!  I have two more layouts to share that I made for NSD!

Sorry for the crooked picture...
My 10 year old daughter got this minion shirt in her Christmas stocking and then used her Claire's gift card to buy the suspenders and the red glasses (with clear lenses!) so so cute!  She kept saying, "Mom I want to be a Nerd"....in she comes dressed like this! I couldn't stop laughing!  She has such a fun personality and I just love that about her!
I used some Lawn Fawn Sunshine papers, MFT letter dies (black letters), and the cricut to cut the letters for "nerd".

This layout came together so easy...I usually struggle with the masculine layouts. I started with HS grid paper and then cut tge MFT fish net cover plate die and used it as a stencil. I used TH faded jeans ink and the stencil randomly on the back ground. I cut the letters for the title using my cricut and I did some serious stamping with a mix of fun stuff that I thought worked well for this layout!
That's all for now, thanks for stopping by!

Beautiful You Layout

Hi again! I was so inspired by a layout that Heidi Swapp posted on Instagram and she has a contest there also...to use 5 numbers to describe someone you love! Fun right! Well it also got me
1. To create another layout
2. Use some Heidi Swapp products that i hoard
3. Add to the #NSD10k 10,000 layout goal
I rushed home from picking my kids up from a sleepover and having to go shoe shopping....again! Really? What do these kids eat that makes their feet grow so fast! LOL!
I used quite a few different things on this layout to make it all come together....

Thanks Heidi for the inspiration as well as fabulous products to "Make Pretty Stuff" with!
I also wanted to "copy" Heidi's layout and use large numbers but didn't have any so I cut some using my Cricut and the Kate's ABC cartridge! I cut the numbers 3 times in white and then once with a pattern paper and adhered them together to give it a chipboard look! It was such an easy way to get the size, dimension and pattern that I needed!

Products used:
Heidi Swapp: Sugar chic paper pad (a lot of the little embellishments were cut from this pad), Icee rhyme lower case ghost letters, ghost shape flower, lg crimson flower.
MFT Happy Graduation Stamp (I masked off the rest if the sentiment and used "bright", Mama Elephant Everyday Greetings stamp set, SSS "you" die, SSS "happy birthday" die (used the happy)

So, I think that completes the supplies used.  I loved being able to use some of my stamps that I have been using to make cards with and incorporate them into my layout. Ok, so enough rambling from me!
Thanks for stopping by!

Time To Snuggle

Good morning!
Here is a layout that I made for National Scrapbook Day (yesterday)!  There is a challenge going on at Big Picture Scrapbooking (BPS) for NSD called the NSD10k and are trying to reach 10,000 layouts posted on Instagram! Of course I wanted to be a part of that, so I created my first layout in probably over a a year...and boy did it feel good!  I will be Scrapbooking more again and possibly getting into Project Life scrap booking because I have a million dollars in supplies, just couldn't get myself to do it! So now I will!

I had fun creating this rather simple layout of my daughter and our puppy snuggled up on the couch together, so cute!
I started with a white 12x12 BG and added random strips of washi tape, some just ripped and some with fishtails. I did some stamping on one of the pictures to give it a poloroid look. I used some Heidi Swapp letters and misted them with Primrose Color Shine. I also did some die cutting: the little title letters are from MFT and I cut them in black. The hearts were cut from strips of washi tape that I adhered to white paper and cut using SSS lots of hearts dies. The little journaling thought bubble cloud is also a SSS die and I added lines for journaling and cut a black border around it.  I then added some splatters using Primrose and Teal Color Shine mists and just splattered it on randomly!
And that's all there is to it! I think it came out super cute and I had a great time creating it! Hopefully BPS will reach their goal of 10,000 layouts posted on Instagram by tomorrow!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

P.S. I am entering this in the SSS Wednesday Anything Goes Challenge!

A Bright Future!

Good morning!
My daughter is moving up from 4th grade and going into the middle school (5th grade) in a couple months! She insists that it is a graduation and wants to have a graduation party! Sounds good to me! She has worked super hard and is so ready to move on!
So this card is for her "graduation"!

I started by using this weeks sketch from MFT!
I used a white 110lb card base A2 size and the new MFT "star background" stamp to gold emboss the stars.  The gold detail powder that I have is not really a true gold more of a muted gold, so I was a little disappointed, as I wanted a shiny gold, but it's ok!  I stamped the large sentiment (MFT "happy graduation")  and also hold embossed it. I adhered two thin strips of SSS doll pink cardstock on the top and bottom of the sentiment panel and adhered a 1 inch flag banner behind it using SSS mint card stock.
The star was a left over star from the new SSS release and is the "star parade" die. I also hold embossed it.  I added some gold thread and then used foam tape to raise the star!
For the inside I gold embossed another sentiment from the same graduation stamp set and added some pink stars using the same color card stock and the star parade die!
I had to take the pics in the sun in the grass to get the true colors I used!

And there you have it...a super pretty, simple and fun card!
It's amazing what can be done with a great sketch and awesome supplies! i am entering this in the card sketch challenge at MFT! Come check it out!

So Proud of You card!

Hi there!
Another post for tonight! I finished up this card for the MFT sketch challenge this week!  I was so glad to be able to use some new MFT goodies in this and some new things I got like the Platinum embossing powder by Ranger and the Cuttlebug Baby's Breath embossing folder!

Here you can maybe see some of the texture and shine from the translucent embossing paste.

I used the "on the diagonal" stencil with translucent embossing paste ( great texture and shine) I used the blueprints 14 pierced circle border on the flag shape. I embossed the darker purple piece and I used the oval scallop Nestabilities for the oval and embossed the sentiment (from MFT "Happy Graduation") using platinum silver (same for the center if the daisy)! I also used the new (free with $60) Gerber daisy die, oh and before I forget the card stock is used is MFT Spearmint, Grapesicle, Grape jelly and Sweet Tooth.
I stepped outside the box on this card and used purple (almost never do, but live the names if the purples!) I thought the mint and silver would be nice additions to the purples!
Thanks for stopping by and have a great night!

*** edited to add: it is 5:49 here and I just realized I missed the noon deadline to post the card****** but that's ok because I had fun making it and that's what counts!!

Happy Hello Mini Cards!

Hi there!
The kiddos just had Spring Break and we had a great week! Now it's back to school so I had a little time to craft!
I made these cute mini note cards for this weeks Lawnscaping challenge and I think they turned out super cute!

I used a Nestabilities scallop circle for the card base...the back is white and the front is Lawn Fawn Dots and Stripes 6x6 pad. I used the Lawn Fawn Scripty Hello die and just used some fun bright scraps of card stock...I added wink of stella too! I used Lawn Fawn Science of love stamps and dies to paper piece the "nerdy birds" so fun....I used foam adhesive on them to pop them up and I like how they are sitting on the "e".  I also used the heart die in the set to cut some white hearts that I added liquid glass to for shine!  That's it...super quick, easy and fun to make! I hope you like them!

Sweet Elephants!!

Hi there! Quick card to share as we are on our way to go race some go karts with the kiddos while they are on Spring Break!

I think this is a super sweet card that came together so fast!  I used the SSS wide stripe BG stamp and some SSS cotton candy ink for the BG!  I cut a front panel and inked the edges with cotton candy....the sentiment is so cute from Mama Elephant stamped in Hero Arts Soft granite ink.  The cute little elephants are Lawn Fawn, stamped in soft granite on SSS cotton candy card stock and die cut!  I added a mint bow from another LF set....so cute!!
I am entering this in the SSS Wednesday Animal Antics challenge! Come over and check it out...their prizes are always generous and the challenges are always inspiring!

Easter Lilly!

Good morning!
Here is an Easter card that I made using some MFT products! When I saw the Lilly die last month, I knew it would be just perfect for Easter cards for the family.  I ordered it this month with some of the just released products and got the Gerbera Daisy die for free (with $60) and I just love that too!
So here is the card:

Look at the gorgeous detail on the buds, flowers and leaves!
I created the little scallop piece using the scallop edge from the new Blueprints 14 die-namics set and cut it in yellow and vellum just to tone the yellow down.  The sentiment is computer generated and formed into a banner using foam tape.  The Lillies were cut in white, the leaves green and the centers in yellow and orange!  They are so fun to piece together to form a gorgeous bunch of lillies!
I plan to make this same card for family members... Along with a Lilly plant and some homemade chocolate pops!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
P. S. I am entering this card in the SSS Wednesday "Easter and/or Sweet Treats" challenge and the Cardztv Easter card challenge!

Bunnies and Carrots and lambs...oh my!!

Hi there!
Today I want to share an assortment of chocolate bunnies, baskets, lambs and carrots that my daughter and I made!

I bought a wooden fence box at Target for $3 and then cut little pieces of Basic Grey "Fresh Cut" papers to fit the fence and used Mod Podge to adhere them...I sanded some of the rough edges with sand paper! I hand cut a little tag and tied with yellow ribbon!
This is for my In-laws and my nieces and nephew...a family of 6! So there should be no fighting, lol! This turned out super cute and u hope they all enjoy it!
I am entering this in the SSS Wednesday "Happy Easter and/or Sweet Treats" challenge!  I think this fit the bill!! I am also entering this in the Cardztv 3-D Easter Challenge!

Light it up!

Hi there!
Here are some cards that I made with the  April SSS card kit! The stamp set is called "Watt's Up?" And features a light bulb, light rays and cute sentiments!

Even though this card doesn't feature a light bulb, I used the dotted heart in the stamp set and some of the small solid hearts to create my own pattern paper. I used a SSS "lots of hearts" die to cut a pink greet and white embossed it with a sentiment from the stamp set!
This is a fun kit to create cute "punny" cards!  I had fun creating these three cards!
